Tribunal Member
Ms Christine Heazlewood has been a lawyer for 26 years, a member of tribunals for 19 years, and has practiced as a solicitor for eight years. She worked in senior management positions for 10 years, and is currently the legal member of the Victorian Psychologists Registration Board and a consultant to the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
Ms Heazlewood has published a number of articles about social security law, tribunal procedures and the regulation of professions. She has been involved with community organisations for over two decades, including advising on welfare rights and contributing to the Fitzroy Legal Service Handbook.
Ms Heazlewood has sat on numerous tribunals including as a senior member of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal, a member of the Veterans’ Review Board, deputy chair of the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal, and Chair of the Mental Health Review Board. More recently she has been a consultant to the Department of Human Services and group manager for the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
